Job Description:

We are seeking a highly-motivated and innovative Senior Applied Scientist to join our research in Boston, MA to drive cutting-edge research and development in network analysis and knowledge graphs modeling. You will work at the intersection of machine learning, computational social science, and AI reasoning to develop scalable solutions for complex real-world challenges. Your work will focus on analyzing large-scale social networks, detecting emerging trends, and building intelligent AI-driven solutions to understand community dynamics, misinformation propagation, and influence structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to explore, evaluate, and implement advanced machine learning methodologies, staying at the forefront of advancements in deep learning, LLMs, knowledge graphs, and computational social science.
  • Develop and optimize solutions using LLMs, deep learning, and network science principles to simulate user behavior, detect anomalous patterns, and predict network evolution.
  • Design computational models for analyzing social networks, community detection, influence structures, and content spread.
  • Apply NLP and multimodal (text, images and videos) data understanding capabilities to model networks' dynamics.
  • Build algorithms to detect and analyze emerging communities, echo chambers, and information bubbles. 
  • Develop visualization tools and analytics dashboards to communicate network dynamics and AI-generated insights.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy machine learning models at scale.
  • Mentor junior scientists and contribute to research publications and patents in machine learning and network science.
  • Frequent travel to the Accrete headquarters in NYC 

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Network Sciences, or a related discipline; or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience leading applied research or product-focused graph-based projects.
  • Experience applying machine learning to real-world problems. Social media analysis and network structures are a plus.
  • Strong foundation in network theory, graph algorithms, and computational modeling.
  • Expertise in deep learning architectures, including GNNs, Transformers, and LLMs.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM prompting, fine-tuning, and application development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and leverage knowledge graphs for machine learning applications.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling of network phenomena, community dynamics, and large-scale social network analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in deep learning libraries (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
  • Experience in large-scale graph processing, data visualization for networks, and using graph libraries (e.g., NetworkX, iGraph, Graph-tool).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and deployment frameworks (ONNX, TensorRT) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Awareness of ethical considerations in social media research and analysis.
  • A publication record in network science, social media analysis, computational social science, or related fields is highly desirable.

Salary Range: 170k-210k

The salary range provided reflects the estimated compensation for this role based on the expected qualifications and experience level. The final offer may vary depending on factors such as skills, experience, and alignment with role requirements.
